Surf Strong
What does Surf Strong Classes involve?
The session will be broken up into 3 stages; Preparation for movement, Strengthening and Conditioning.
Preparation for movement will be completed as a group and will involve a 5 minute mobility warm up, muscle activation, jumping and landing mechanics and a hypoxic training component aimed at increasing clients capacity to hold their breath while taking a hold down.
Strengthening will focus on lower limb strength and power, core, upper limb explosive push movements and upper limb pulling endurance.
Conditioning will consist of a HITT style workout, rotating between stations to get the heart rate up at the end of the session.
What if I am a beginner surfer and don’t have much gym experience?
All levels of surfers and gym experience are welcome. Our physiotherapist can adjust for this and spend more time going over correct lifting techniques with you.
